Went to Amoy Market for lunch and tried the Hakka Thunder Tea Rice aka Lei Cha Fan as I’ve heard Sis raved about it previously. Tried a little portion of the tea and I knew it was not my taste of liking. In the end, I ate the rice filled with veges only while looking at those nicely steamed white chicken hanging @ the stall beside my seat.
I was lucky in a way that I had “vegetarian” lunch as my dinner was pork and more pork! The couple picked us up @ Tanjong Pagar and we headed to Bugis for Xiao Long Baos @ Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant. It’s a Shanghainese restaurant - similar to Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao. What we ordered could put me off xiao long baos for a few months. Can you imagine all we had was different kind of xiao long baos (2 kindsof mushrooms, shrimp, vege, normal pork, crab meat, crab roe) and the famous Big Xiao Long Bao which requires you to use a straw to suck up the “soup”. Unfortunately, this big one is with crab roe and the taste was not of my liking again. It tasted too “seafoody” which was weird as I’ve always liked seafood (crabs, prawns). Perhaps the thought of me being allergic to shrimps has put me off. Anyway, this dinner of steamed dumplings cost me $25. That’s a total of $125 worth of dumplings we had!
Next stop, next month: HooHa! (Westend) Yeah! At least I know I’ll like the food there (think Fish & Chips!!) Wonder how they’ll split the bill though if they order the steak :x

How Suay…
Is it because my eight character clashes with my current company? I’ve been ill since the 2nd week I joined. Headache, wisdom tooth removal, and now rashes?!
Red spots surfaced on my feet, hands and scattered in some parts of my body since Saturday evening. At 1st, Mum scared me saying that it might be measles. After visiting the doc, he said prima facie, it might be food (shrimp) allergy. Was it the small shrimps in the fried rice that causes the outbreak? I was never allergic to prawns but the doc say that our body changes and allergies will occur anytime in our life. Hopefully, with the medicine he gave, the rash will disappear by Wednesday :(

I lost my Wisdom...
tooth I mean.. 2 of it. It all started with a toothache around my wisdom tooth and after a dental checkup, the dentist, whose attitude puts me off warned me sternly that I’ve to remove it. I understand that I’ll need to remove it else the pain will still come back. But can’t he sound friendly instead of lecturing me…
Anyway, went to the TPY polyclinic yesterday morning to get a referral letter.. Ah… the doctor is so much nicer. Sadly, NDC could only slot me in for a consultation next Tuesday. Afraid that the swelling would worsen, I decided to walk-in for registration and was prepared to wait for 2-3 hours before my turn.
Had a super quick lunch @ the cafeteria before rushing back to make sure that I don’t miss my number as they’ll call me in whenever the doctor has an empty slot. Was so lucky to have waited around only 45 mins for my turn. The doctor even apologized for letting me wait (though mine was a walk-in registration). He asked several questions before getting my X-ray done. After seeing the X ray, he asked if I wanted to do the extraction today ?! I was like “You mean now? Here?!
Through a friend’s recommendation, I actually had a doctor in mind to do my extraction; therefore I was hesitating whether I should let him do my extraction. Several thoughts filled my mind “Is he new? He looks young? What if he’s using me as a practicing patient?
After some consideration, I gave a firm reply “Ok, I’ll do it today”
He proceeded to ask the nurse to get the necessary tools and while waiting, a female beside my cubicle was practically “moaning” away as she was in pain. I asked the doc what’s she’s doing and he said scaling. She scared the hell out of me as I wonder if she’s doing extraction!
There was no drilling involved for me as it was a simple extraction. The injection of anesthesia was slightly painful (perhaps my pain threshold has increased due to the weekly facial extraction) Haha! Lots of pressure could be felt when he was pulling the tooth out but I didn’t even realized that it was out until he told me. Within 30 mins, both tooth (upper and lower left) was out, area cleaned and stitched.
It was a pretty good experience after all especially when the doctor and nurse are friendly and nice. He even called last night to make sure that everything was fine and answered my queries. Thumbs up for NDC! Oh, I won’t hesitate to remove my 2 other wisdom tooth too when necessary ;p

Quick updates
- Sis left for London on Wednesday. Surprisingly, she didn’t cry! Haha neither did I. Perhaps there were too many people around that kept her busy talking too. Anyway hope that she’ll get used to living there. Can’t wait to visit her there soon!
- Got back my results! Kindda disappointed with it though as I’ve spent 2 weeks studying for it. 2 Distinctions and 1 Credit. Was hoping to get high distinction for CB… but well… will try harder for the coming semester!
